Understanding Clinic Exceptions with Maven Wallet
If you’re a Maven Gold member whose fertility benefits are transitioning to Maven and your current clinic isn’t part of the Maven Performance Network, you may still have options to continue care there. This process is called a network exception.
We know how important continuity of care is—especially during treatment. This article explains when a network exception may apply, how to request one, and where to find Maven in-network options.

What is the Maven Performance Network?
Your Maven Wallet gives you access to trusted fertility care through the Maven Performance Network—our curated network of in-network fertility clinics and providers that deliver exceptional care and outcomes.

When a network exception may apply
Maven Gold members are generally required to use a Maven in-network provider to receive fertility coverage through Maven. Some fertility clinics are out of network with Maven. You may qualify for a network exception to use an out-of-network clinic or provider if any of the following apply:
- You (or your partner) were actively undergoing a Timed Intercourse, IUI, IVF, or egg freezing cycle (e.g. cycle monitoring or medication) at an out-of-network clinic when Maven benefits launched for your employer.
- You (or your partner) have frozen tissue (eggs, sperm, or embryos) stored at an out-of-network clinic from before your Maven program start date.
- You live more than 50 miles from a Maven in-network fertility provider and there are clinic option(s) locally available.
If one of these situations applies, complete the Network Exception Request Form. Our team typically reviews requests within three business days and will follow up once your request has been evaluated.
How to find a Maven in-network fertility clinic
If you’re located in the U.S. and would like to explore Maven in-network fertility clinics near you, use the Maven Fertility Clinic Finder.
Once you’ve created your account, you can also access it by visiting your Maven Wallet homepage and selecting Find a fertility clinic.
You can search by:
- ZIP code, or
- City and state
You’ll see nearby Maven Performance Network clinics (within about 50 miles), along with clinic names, contact details, and locations.
Important for Maven Gold members
If you do not have an approved network exception and choose to receive care outside of the Maven Performance Network, please note that you will not be eligible for your employer’s fertility and/or preservation benefits through Maven Wallet. You may still have medication coverage through your Maven Wallet Benefits.
However, we want to assure you that Maven remains committed to supporting your fertility journey.
