If your employer or health plan—or your partner’s or parent’s employer or health plan—offers Maven as a fully paid benefit, you’ll need to enroll in a Maven sponsored program to access your benefits.
If you’re having trouble enrolling, the tips below can help resolve the most common issues.
Double-check your date of birth format
When entering a date of birth, be sure to use the format MM/DD/YYYY.
For example:
- January 15, 1980 should be entered as 01/15/1980
The shortened format (MM/DD/YY) can cause errors during enrollment, so entering the full four-digit year is important.
Enter names exactly as they appear on records
When asked to enter your name, the employee’s name, or the sponsored individual’s name, we recommend using the exact spelling listed in employer or health plan records.
If you’re unsure how a name is listed, you may want to confirm directly with the employer or health plan.
These additional tips can also help:
- Avoid nicknames or shortened names
- For example, if you go by Kate but your legal name is Katherine, enter Katherine
- If your last name includes a hyphen, try removing the hyphen
- If your last name has changed since employment or health plan enrollment, try entering your previous last name
Keep enrollment timing in mind
In some cases, enrollment issues are related to timing rather than incorrect information. Here are a few scenarios to be aware of:
- If your employer or health plan recently announced Maven as a benefit, enrollment won’t be available until your organization has officially launched with Maven
- If you, your partner, or your parent is a new hire, it may take a few weeks for their information to appear on the eligibility file
- If your benefits are offered through a health plan, enrollment won’t be available until the health plan coverage start date
- If Maven access requires enrollment in a company-sponsored health plan, eligibility may not appear until that coverage is active
